Use the space between points to reset

A repeatable between-point routine helps you let go of the last point and give the next one a clear intention.

Separate the points

The few seconds between points are a chance to close the last point and choose the next job. A slow breath and a relaxed walk can interrupt the urge to replay the mistake.

Give the next point one intention

Pick one simple target, such as a safe height over the net or a first serve location. The intention should guide your attention without trying to predict the entire point.

Practice the routine before match day

Use the same reset during practice games and drills. Routines become easier to trust when they are familiar before the score becomes important.

Mental skills are personal. If pressure feels overwhelming or affects your wellbeing outside tennis, speak with a qualified professional.

Keep practicing

Take one clear idea to the court.
